Indoor Track and Field Nearing National ChampionshipsPublished by

Before the snow could deter any action at the Bruner Fieldhouse on the Illinois College campus, men's and women's track and field athletes were fitting up their spikes for a fast-paced meet, featuring regionally ranked teams (Washington University and Monmouth College). Molly Dixon was one of the first performers for Principia College on the track in the 400-meter dash. She has been coming back from a delayed training period and gained some experience in one of her longer events. She came through the line in 1:06.81. Teammate Vanessa Ramirez-Jasso chipped off more time in her shortest event (60-meter dash), crossing the line in 9.27. Both Dixon and Ramirez-Jasso sprinted in the 200-meter dash, but in separate heats. Ramirez-Jasso ran a season-best 30.21, while Dixon came in at 28.53.
