ST. LOUIS, MO. In a much larger meet this Friday-Saturday at the Bushyhead Track of Washington University in St. Louis, the women's track and field team brought a smaller squad for what turned out to be a good start for the outdoor season for several of the performers. Lyssa Winslow competed in the hammer throw late Friday night, putting up a best mark of 144' (43.89 meters). She continued the next day in the discus and shot put. Her best in the discus was her third attempt which qualified her for the finals. She landed a toss of 122' 3" (37.27 meters) and in the shot put where she was in the final and sixth flight, she put out a nice huck of 39' 83/4" (12.11 meters). Her teammate, senior Gabriela Schwenker improved on her mark in the discus throw from last week to notch up a couple inches to 74' 5" (22.69 meters). Read the full article at: principiaathletics.com
