Rock Island, ILL. -- The Principia College cross country team traveled to Rock Island, Illinois for the 2017 Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships. Regional championships are the only opportunity cross country runners have to qualify for the national championships, which Principia College is hosting this year. Therefore, all 8 DIII Regional Championships were called "The Road to Elsah." The Midwest Region is only able to send 7 individual runners to the National Championships, Principia qualified three: Zach Matthiesen, Shane Witters Hicks, and Nate Richards.
