Panthers Compete Well at Dr. Keeler Invite on Day 1Published by
NAPERVILLE, ILL. On a perfect spring day at North Central College, competing at the Dr. Keeler Invite, junior Lyssa Winslow improved her lifetime best mark in the hammer throw to 44.58 meters (146 feet, 3 inches), improving her number three spot on the all-time top ten list behind two All-American hammer throwers. She did not favor as well in the discus throw only able to produce a 38.84-meter performance, though she was close on all events in making the final rounds. She will go into the second day of competition in her final event of this week's competition the shot put. Teammate Sarah Litwiller put a tremendous amount of training into improving herself over the last two weeks to produce a strong finish in the 5000-meter run. She crossed the line in 17:30.12.
