Elsah, ILL. -- The Principia College Men's and Women's track and field teams had an outstanding start to the indoor season with the two-day home Prin Relays track meet where they were supported by friends, family, and professors. The relays began Friday morning with the start of the men's and women's heptathlon and pentathlon events. In the early afternoon the first Principia field athletes competed. David McLeod-Warrick, a new multi-event track and field athlete, navigated competing in both the high jump and the long jump at the same time. Sophomore Deirdre Wright competed Friday afternoon in the long jump setting a new colligate personal best of 4.62m (15' 2"). The running events began at 5:00 pm with the 60m dash. Senior Molly Dixon ran the 60m in 8.40 seconds and first year track athletes Noah Moothart and David McLeod-Warrick ran the race in 7.88 seconds and 8.16 seconds respectively. Also, both the men's and women's teams put together a Distance Medley Relay Team. The women's team, made up of Hannah McCauley, Gabriella Burns, Shontee Pant, and ChaCha Fisher, ran the DMR in 15:04.67. The men's DMR Team, comprised of Shane Witters-Hicks, Pierson Gill, Tyler Wingert, and Nate Richards, ran a 10:58.77. Hannah McCauley (29.99), Molly Dixon (27.92), Zeke Ouellette (26.67), and Noah Moothart (25.95) all competed in the 200m dash.
